The National Centre for Rural Development (NCRD) is a registered Public Charitable Trust. The vision of NCRD took shape in the year 1991 at a place brimming with resources as well as opportunities for Industrial and Intellectual growth.
NCRD started its academic programs by offering education at school level .In due course several other programs like Pharmacy and Technology were introduced. The next logical step was to establish a business school to impart the necessary skills required for managers in the fast changing global business scenario. Today NCRD has two pre-primary schools, six high schools, three agricultural schools / vocational institutes and eight colleges.
The NCRD’s Sterling Institute of Management Studies approved by All India Council for Technical Education, (AICTE) New Delhi, and Government of Maharashtra and affiliated to University of Mumbai started functioning in the year 2004. It has the most advanced educational infrastructure which includes an air conditioned library rich with a wide range of books, national and international magazines and journals. Air conditioned class rooms are equipped with the state of art audio visual aids.
The Institute has air conditioned computer labs with latest configuration computers and Internet facility through the 1Mbps leased line. The Institute has dedicated faculty and staff creating environment which is conducive to the growth of the students
This year MMS topper Ms. Sheetal Banavalikar and IInd rank holder Ms. Shubhra, along with MCA topper Ms. Rajani Shirwadkar and IInd rank holder Ms. Vaishali Lad, visited Singapore and Hong Kong under Institute sponsored study tour. Last year the Institute sponsored 8 students of MMS first year on an Educational Study Tour to Dubai. The Institute has made a tradition of sponsoring foreign visits for the MMS & MCA students.
This reflects our concern and commitment towards the encouragement of students to excel in academics. On behalf of the Trustees I assure you that we are putting the best efforts to make the Management Program most successful and purposeful.
